Japan Summer Camp Counselor Internship for College and High School Students

SCOA is now accepting applications for both senior and junior camp counselors for SCOA’s Japan summer camp internship program.  The senior camp counselor position is open to college students who played a sport, cheer or dance in high school or college.  The junior camp counselor position is open to current sophomores, juniors and seniors in high school, who play a sport, cheer or dance.

SCOA is an American summer camp for Japanese elementary and junior high students to experience American culture through playing sports and camp activities with American camp counselors in an English environment. 

Fourteen senior counselors were selected to visit Japan last summer.   They attended Cal, USC, UCLA, Washington, Arizona, UC Davis, UCSB, UC Irvine and Miami.  Seven junior camp counselors were selected to visit Japan as well.

Dates of the camp
Senior camp counselorsJuly 16 to August 21 (tentative)
Junior camp counselors: July 16 to August 15 (tentative)

Fees covered by the program
Senior counselors: Airfare and food & lodging at camp are covered. Non-paid internship.
Junior counselors: Airfare is not covered, but food & lodging at camp are covered. Non-paid internship.

The application deadline is March 4.
