Feature length documentary film, “Do You Know What My Name Is?” produced by Sendai Television Incorporated, will be released simultaneously in New York and Los Angeles this coming December.

The film depicts an emotional real life drama of how a “dementia improvement program” developed in the brain science research in Japan was implemented in the U.S., and helped patients on the verge of losing the will to live reconnect with their family. Although it is rare for Japanese documentary films to be released in the U.S., the film’s fresh perspective highlighting the challenge to improve dementia touched the hearts of many, which led to the film’s general release in the U.S. The film received numerous recognitions including the “Audience Favorite International Film,” the grand prize at the “American Documentary Film Festival” held in Palm Springs in April 2013, the “Award of Merit” at the “Berlin International film Awards” (May 2013), and the “Honorable Mention” at the “Los Angeles Movie Awards” (August 2013). The film will also be distributed in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
