The Japan America Society of Southern California was founded in 1909 to build economic, cultural, governmental and personal relationships between the people of Japan and America.

In April 2010, the Society completed an eighteen–month long celebration of its 100–year history by presenting an extraordinary series of programs focusing on the United States–Japan relationship. As we enter our second century of service to the community, we are continuing to showcase Japan-related programming through collaborations with various Japanese-American and Japanese organizations, and other cultural and educational organizations throughout Southern California and Japan.
