The Los Angeles World Affairs Council’s Future of Asia Conference will be held from September 15th-16th in Los Angeles, the most “Asia-connected city” in the US.

Asia and the US are the most dynamic and innovative regions in the world, and will jointly shape the global economy in the 21st century. To examine the opportunities and the challenges, some 50 speakers from across Asia and the US will convene in LA to discuss some key questions:

  • As Asia’s middle class triples to 3 billion by 2030, how will the infrastructure be built to cope?
  • K-Pop, Bollywood and video games transcend national borders - how is Asia’s youth shaping the future?
  • How can the US and China avoid the “Thucydides Trap” of great power conflict?
  • What will India’s and China’s economies look like in 15 years?
  • How can Japan, Korea and China adjust to their aging populations?
  • What are the biggest opportunities for Americans in Asia – and for Asians in the US?
