This sumptuous new film presents a great learning opportunity for practicing Buddhists and those interested in the process of preserving culture through art by revealing the legacy of Buddhist art throughout Asia and the efforts being made to salvage what remains of this fragile inheritance. The Getty Conservation Institute’s long-term involvement at the spectacular site of Dunhuang on the Silk Road in China is featured in this documentary by award-winning filmmakers Mark Stewart Productions.

Following the screening will be a special Q&A discussion with Professor David Park, director of the Robert H.N. Ho Family Foundation Centre for Buddhist Art and Conservation at the Courtauld Institute of Art.
