The Japan Foundation, Los Angeles relocated from Downtown Los Angeles to the Wilshire Courtyard building on the Miracle Mile District, near the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Stop by and enjoy live music, Short film screenings and hands-on activities.


Activities & Events

The Photo Exhibition: “NIPPON THROUGH MY EYES” 
32 American high school students, who were participants of the JET-MIP program, share their best shots from their travels through Japan this summer. JET-MIP is a program that gives American High School students the chance to discover and enrich their culture understanding of Japan.

  • Short Animation “Mt. Head” Directed by Koji Yamamura Academy Award Nominated Short Animation in 2003: 10 minutes 
  • Short Drama “Eternally Yours” Directed by Atsushi Ogata Indie Soul Best Story Line Award 2008: 15 Minutes
Hands on Cultural Activities
  • Japanese Calligraphy Origami (Folding Japanese Paper Art) 
  • Kendama (Japanese Traditional Wooden Toy)
