The Aurora Foundation promotes Japanese culture to mainstream Americans interested in Japanese language and culture by providing scholarships and grants through the Aurora Foundation’s Scholarship Programs.

Net proceeds from the event helps fund the Aurora Japanese Language Scholarship, the Aurora Challenge Grant, the Aurora Speech Contest, and the Aurora Endowment Fund along with Aurora Program activities.

Minami Kosetsu
Born in February 1949 in Oita, Japan. He formed a musical band, Kaguya Hime, in 1970. Its distinctive musicianship created several million seller songs, and it has profoundly influenced the Japanese folk music industry. In 1975, Kaguya Hime, along with another musical artist, held an all-night outdoor concert. 60,000 fan audiences were attracted to the concert and it created a legendary record in Japanese music history. Minami has been a pioneer and trend setter.
